As the best brand consultant in calicut. I’ve seen a lot of websites — and to be honest, many of them look great… but don’t actually work.
Whether it’s a shop in Kozhikode or a service in Kochi, some common mistakes keep showing up.
So in this post, I’m breaking down the 6 biggest website mistakes I see (and how to avoid them) — especially if you’re a small business owner in Kerala.
1. No Clear Message on the Homepage
When someone lands on your site, they should know exactly what you do in 5 seconds.
If they’re confused, they’ll leave.
Fix:
Make your main headline clear and short.
Something like: “Affordable Interior Design Services in Calicut” — simple and direct.
2. No Call-to-Action (CTA)
If you don’t tell people what to do next, they’ll just scroll and bounce.
Fix:
Add clear CTAs like:
“Call Now”
“Get a Free Quote”
“Book a Consultation”
…and place them in multiple spots — not just at the bottom.
3. Too Much Text, Too Little Design
Nobody wants to read a full essay on your homepage.
Fix:
Keep your sections short. Use headings, icons, and spacing to make it easy to skim.
People should be able to “scan” your site and still understand it.
4. Not Mobile-Friendly
Over 70% of people visit sites from their phone — especially in India.
If your site isn’t mobile-optimized, you’re losing visitors instantly.
Fix:
Use a responsive WordPress theme, and always test your site on mobile before launching.
5. Slow Loading Time
If your site takes more than 3 seconds to load, people will leave.
No one’s going to wait — especially not on mobile data.
Fix:
Compress images, avoid heavy animations, and use good hosting.
(Yes, I handle all that when I build websites for my clients.)
6. No Contact Info or Map
I still see sites with no phone number, no WhatsApp, and no directions. Why make it hard for customers to reach you?
Fix:
Add a visible contact section — with a clickable phone number, WhatsApp button, and Google Map if you have a location.
